Right on, Pastor Bohr. I agree with you, the Church should not be submitting to culture, but be true to the Bible and its teachings. We proclaim to be a Bible-believing Church, we should follow all the teachings of the Bible else we are hypocrites. God bless you for all you are doing for this cause.
Articulately stated, as ever! The fact that a secular magazine sees the connection between the role of women in the church and the family on the one hand, and the gay issue on the other, is notably significant in the present Adventist controversy, where many pro-women’s ordination persons insist passionately there is no connection between these respective issues.
In other news, Devil uses homosexuality issue to deter God’s messengers from spreading the gospel!
In what way, Alex, do you believe the homosexual issue is deterring God’s messengers from spreading the gospel? You might wish to elaborate on this a bit more.
All sin, of course, is a distraction from the work of spreading the gospel. But from reading your comment, I’m wondering whether you see this issue as a distraction because homosexual practice is in fact sinful, as Scripture teaches, or whether you simply believe we should leave the issue alone and focus on spreading what you believe the gospel to be.
Just curious.

Pastor Bohr, i am completely ashamed of the lack of intellectual integrity you display in dealing with this article. You make connections the author does not and you rely on a secular writer to establish your theology. Worst of all you confuse those who for years have followed and trusted your teachings. Please present your case from a sola scriptura perspective and with integrity. That is the least you must do as a servant of the Lord. Respectfully, Carlos A. Molina, US Army Chaplain.

Dear Mr. Molina, I think you missed the point Pastor is making and have jumped to conclusions without weighing what was said and why it was said. The video clip shows that a secular magazine has indicated a connection between women ordination and homosexual marriage in which there is a pattern where the first precedes the second. Pastor Bohr has many biblically based studies and sermons on this issue. The video only confirms what he and others have been warning the Church about. I really think you have therefore overreacted and in turn missed the essence of what is being highlighted here.
Hmm Mr Molina, after watching this clip and afterwards reading your comment, I can only conclude that your understanding of English is lacking. The points presented in this video are crystal clear, cohérent and free of any form of intellectual dishonesty. I would suggest that you watch this clip once more.

What a disgrace this article is, and all these ignorant pastors and members of the church who believe this garbage. How irresponsible to compare homosexuality issues with ordaining women. Tell that to women who are Pastoring where there are no men, tell that to the women who are the leaders of churches because men DO NOT want to serve the Lord, tell that to the women prophets of the Bible selected by the almighty God. Where in the Bible is the word ‘Ordination’. I have had enough of this discrimination non-sense. These are the same people that discriminate minorities in church, when minorities join their churches and are in leadership positions, they fly. These are the same hypocrites that are in the closet, watching porn, believe women are second class citizens, drink alcohol, coffee, don’t study the Bible everyday, don’t pray, and on Sabbath are pretending in the churches like they are saints. Homosexuals have existed in the church and will continue to exist yes Seventh Day Adventist gays, with their headquarters in Pennsylvania for years, I read about it in the 80’s in a secular local newspaper about them. Pastoring is not for every woman and it’s certainly not for many men either.

Dear Maria, you have clearly not acknowledged or are deeply in denial that there is a distinct correlation between women’s rights in terms of ordination and homosexual marriage and the acceptance of homosexual behaviour as a virtuous Christian trait in the Church. The fact that you asked “Where in the Bible is the word ‘Ordination’” shows that you are unawares of the real issue at hand and I sympathize with you wholeheartedly because you aren’t the only one out there who has been misinformed and misled by erroneous teachings and culture biased beliefs that are being propagated by some pastors, theologians and leaders within the Church. Your acceptance of homosexuality for whatever reason is unfortunate as this position isn’t supported by sound biblical teaching. Your diatribe and name calling exercise may have perhaps helped you vent some of your anger and bitterness against those who may oppose your views. The CAP website has graciously allowed you to post your harsh remarks towards those opposing WO although you are clearly out of line. The fact that your comments haven’t been removed shows that they are merciful and kind-hearted individuals who love people like you without prejudice. They have turned the other cheek in spite of your ranting and crass remarks. Their silence is saying that they forgive you. Go in peace.
Carlos, thank you for your post. I pulled up the article online to read it in its entirety and Elizabeth Dias clearly is not making the theological connection Pastor Bohr claims she is making. She cannot make this theological connection because she does not use Scripture in her article. Her article is merely a report of cultural issues, not a systematic theological debate. But if Dias was setting up the Christian evangelical community to look… like we always do, Pastor Bohr played right into her hand.
I don’t hear Pastor Bohr saying that he is relying on the article for theology. He is clearly saying that, though many persons state the contrary, even the secular world recognizes that one follows the other. Women’s lib….gay lib….women’s ordination…gay ordination and gay marriage. He presents the historical observations of the secular writer who says WARNING we can see from a non-religious view that WO should be avoided if you don’t want to continue in the worldy trends.
I came from the Lutheran Church. Some years ago my former Lutheran Church accepted woman as ordained pastors. Very soon thereafter in my father’s 600 member Lutheran Church a homosexual pastor came applying for the job left vacant by a gourmet pastor. My parents were absolutely shocked to the core . Yes there is a connection between the two.
