LGBTQ-WO Questions for NAD, PUC, NCC

With the arrival of the February 13, 2017 “Statement from the North American Division on Baptism at Chico Seventh-day Adventist Church,” members in North America are asking fresh questions.
Readers will be aware of the matter at hand. In mid-2016 in the Chico Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Northern California Conference (NCC), a woman elder holding a commissioned minister credential voted by the Pacific Union Conference, baptized a lesbian who had previously “married” another Chico church member who is a lesbian. This person was made a member of the church. The matter was kept quiet by its perpetrators until the story broke on February 2, 2017.
Since then, we have no indication that the Northern California Conference has taken any substantive action. As of the time of publication [3:50 p.m., February 14, 2017] the Chico Seventh-day Adventist Church continues to include in its membership (at least) two baptized lesbians who think that they are married to each other. And all this with approval of Pastor Dan Wysong, the elders, and the church membership. Meanwhile, it is the teaching of the world church that “Marriage [is]. . . a lifelong union between a man and a woman. . . and should be entered into only between a man and a woman. . .” (Fundamental Beliefs #23).
We also realize that “reasons for which members shall be subject to discipline are. . . . 4. Fornication, which includes among other issues, promiscuity, homosexual activity, incest, sodomy, and bestiality” (Church Manual, revised 2015 edition, p. 62). It is remarkable that someone would be baptized and added to membership while actively practicing the very sins which the world church agrees are grounds for removal from membership.
At present, the conference administration seems determined to maintain a veil of secrecy over the matter pleading they are addressing the situation as a matter of “employee confidentiality.” They claim to support world church teachings while at the same time their NCC Chico church continues to include as members in regular standing baptized practicing homosexuals who are in a same-sex “marriage” with each other.
There is an overarching responsibility that is being missed. Namely, that these leaders have a responsibility to maintain the teachings of the Church. Local churches do NOT have authority to set standards of membership; rather, they are permitted within parameters set by the world church to receive persons as members. The same world church says that no congregation is granted permission to establish its own tests of fellowship, but that such authority is held only by the “General Conference Session” (Church Manual, p. 64).
It is interesting to us that the lesbian who was baptized was baptized by a woman elder who holds a current credential from the Pacific Union (PUC). Is it the policy of the Pacific Union not only to disregard the General Conference Session decisions on women’s ordination, but also its decisions about homosexuality?
There is a breach of trust by the Chico church membership, the pastor and elders of that church, the Northern California Conference, the Pacific Union, and the North American Division (NAD). Each of these entities is responsible to the broader world church membership to uphold the decisions of the world church. Indeed, these entities are responsible to God and to each member of the Adventist Church to sustain the biblical understanding of the world church regarding marriage and human sexuality.
We, the Council of Adventist Pastors, respectfully call upon NCC, PUC, and NAD pastors to join us in upholding the teachings and practices of the world church and to sustain the Adventist understanding of marriage and human sexuality. Up to this time, present leadership of NCC, PUC, and NAD, by pursuing a course of unfaithfulness toward the world church regarding women’s ordination, credentialing, homosexuality and membership, are causing the disintegration of unity and trust. Many months have passed with no correction of the Chico matter. We believe that intervention by higher authorities is needful, and that those who are approving of these things should be released from duty, whether presidents or pastors.

Dear CAP,
Thank you standing up and the broad issues that the church facing. May the Lord take control of things and just maybe He will divert attention to the real issues that we need to tackle. That is giving the message that God has given us as a body.

Why am I not surprised? This is what I call the early report, and the results of Women’s Ordination being placed in a position that she was never called to serve, in the first place! …and I’m gong to repeat it again… neither before the flood, or after the flood. “GOD” never gave us an example, neither did “HIS” Son “JESUS CHRIST” leave us with one!
…knowing this, I guess that’s when the Brethren of the NAD and it’s President Daniel Jackson started twisting the facts of what’s written in the word of “GOD” and the Gospel of “JESUS CHRIST”, to make it say what they want it to say! Like Satan, twisted the word of “GOD” when he was in the garden of Eden… asking “Hath “GOD” said! ….and the same way like he did with “JESUS CHRIST” when our Lord and Savior was in the wilderness, determined to take back the Power that Satan had over us!
……. Saying unto “JESUS”, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Now if you take your bibles and turn to Psalm 91:12 that is exactly what is says, but it in no way gives us the right to temp “GOD” just to prove a point.
….. and Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Matthew 4: 6,7
However, it’s about time that the Brethren come to grips and come together and face the facts that there is a “Traitor” in our church…. an Achan!
But the Seventh-Day Adventist Church is the remnant church, and “JESUS CHRIST” is the Corner Stone we are to carry out the Commission that have been given to us.
Knowing that the church is built upon the foundation of the apostles, Ephesians 2:20. The first stones of that building were laid in and by their ministry; hence their names are said to be written in the foundations of the new Jerusalem, Revelation 21:14
Wherefore what’s coming from the Chico Seventh-Day Adventist Church, is Hypocrisy insincerity by virtue of pretending to have qualities or beliefs that you do not really have.
Apostasy, a renunciation, of defection — the state of having rejected your religious beliefs and the General Conference Working Policy replacing it with your own;
Daniel Jackson – President of the (NAD) North American Division, and guilty of coming out in full support with this “Twisted” Gospel of “JESUS CHRIST”!
Therefore, for the rest of us (“MEN”) that have not been affected by this foreign spirit of “Women’s Ordination” and these sexual alternative life styles and “Fake Satanic” Marriages, called “Marriage Equality” that have been allowed to come into our presence. I therefore beseech you Brethren that we Rebuke this “Fake” and False Spirit of “JESUS CHRIST” by the “POWER” that have been given unto us written, in Luke 10:19 and give all of our support and power to the General Conference and our President Ted N.C. Wilson; and rid all of our churches from this Hypocrisy and the Apostasy that comes with it!
By replacing every single person that is not complying with this churches mission. …..and should they “REPENT” then we will follow the COMPASSION of “JESUS CHRIST” and forgive them, making sure that they have repented through the “HOLY SPIRIT”!

For the wages of sin is DEATH!
God will and His Saints Judge the wicked.
Repent and be saved from destruction.
This is a no brainer for me and several million other SDA.

While the NAD statement mentions “a biblical view on human sexuality,” it does not state clearly what that biblical view is.
The 2nd and 5th paragraphs’ wording “regardless of their views on human sexuality,” “divergent perspectives regarding human sexuality,” and “protection from social marginalization” can be misconstrued to mean that those who don’t believe and conform to what the Bible teaches should not be disciplined.
In 1996, I asked an influential person why the Review published two pictures featuring prominently the same gay activist in an article on on AIDS conference. I mentioned no names, but it was clear he knew whom I was referring to. He responded that he didn’t know why the Review printed those pictures, but the fellow was a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
I said, “His church doesn’t want to deal with it?”
He responded by drawing a line on a piece of paper. On one end he put heterosexual monogamy and on the other he put homosexual promiscuity. In the middle he put homosexual monogamy. He said that when he speaks to such groups he encourages them to be monogamous, since that’s progress.
The group we were in at a major institution was shocked at what he said.
I think we’ve had some pushing the boundaries for a long time. In reality, it’s always been that way. The truth is the truth, regardless, and the truth will prevail.

In support of some of what I said above, pages 6 and 7 of http://docs.adventistarchives.org/docs/RH/RH19900426-V167-17__C.pdf#Page=6 have two pictures with Larry Hallock in them.
If you do a Google search for ‘”Larry Hallock” Adventist’, among other things, you’ll find a FaceBook video posted 7 months ago of a discussion by Larry at an SDA Kinship meeting about how he and other Kinship members have become atheists.
If you find online the Kinship newsletter for April/May 1990, p. 2 lists Larry as “Church Liaison,” and pp. 6-8 discuss the participation of Kinship at the AIDS conference, stating that they “had been officially invited to provide speakers and an exhibit table.” Yet the Review article said nothing about Kinship’s involvement at the conference.

We cannot reject the views of evangelicals who oppose WO simply because they also worship on Sunday.
Neither can we reject the views of Adventists who promote WO simply because they also baptize same sex couples.
More than 99% (approximately) of Adventists who teach WO, do not baptize same sex couples.

To the lawlaw and to the testimony: if they( whoever) speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them IS 8:20
The tolerance of higher critical methods of interpretation should cease immediately! There is one LORD ,one faith ,one baptism!
How do I answer to someone who Iam giving bible studies to when they state” you say the 7th Day Adventist is GOD’S remnant church , but you can’t even agree on what the bible says and the church allows what GOD in HIS word clearly forbids”?
