Upper Columbia Conference "Ordinationizes" Commissioned Credential

On March 29, 2016, the Upper Columbia Conference executive committee voted, 11-5, within the territory of that conference, to treat the commissioned minister credential identically to the ordained credential in almost every respect. However, it is not within the prerogative of a conference to create, in essence, a new credential without General Conference permission. Any such behavior exceeds the authority vested in a conference by the world church. Furthermore, the voted policy contradicts the Church Manual voted by the world church. Can each conference have its own separate Church Manual? Will this behavior help the world church press together? If a conference can disregard the policy of the General Conference, why cannot a local church disregard the policy of the local conference?
The Upper Columbia Conference is part of the North Pacific Union, which is part of the North American Division.

First of all…. let me say that I really would like to see Adventist news sources, such as Ordinationtruth.com, report more frequently on issues affecting the World Church. I realize that this website is more singularly dedicated to the issue of Women’s Ordination; but I just would just like to see that when issues, such as these, insinuate themselves upon the Church, that we can see websites, that are standing for the truth, be “johnny-on-the-spot” in its reporting. The “Spectrumses” and “AdventistTodays” of the church have become news sources that are more on the ball in reporting than even The Adventist Review. But, websites, standing for the right, seem to lag behind in reporting. This is only meant to serve as constructive criticism; nothing more.
Now as to the issue….
When, tell me when, will we hear from the General Conference as to decisive action to deal with this widespread rebellion that has occurred since San Antonio? It is clear that the only deterrent against the actions of these Unions/Conferences, largely in but not limited to Europe (also including rogue Unions/Conferences in the United States), is discipline. There will be no recanting on the part of leadership in the aforementioned areas. Make no mistake about it, I am in support of the GC President and have felt, since 2010, that God has infused a proposition of revival and reformation most definitely upon the remnant Church. I give seminars all over the country and parts of the world and have returned to Atlanta, Ga many times, since GC 2010, to give seminars. Every time I go, if at all possible, I look out the side of the plane to try and spot that bright, white dome in the southeast corner of Downtown Atlanta (The Georgia Dome). I believe, symbolically that it was the place where God began His final call, to His people, to Revive and Reform before it is too late. It means very little more than the home of the Atlanta Falcons to my fellow plane passengers, but I consider that place a place of magnanimous implications and importance; in short, “the epicenter of the shaking”. This work has been done most intentionally through the ministry of Elder Ted Wilson.
Believe it or not I believe that the appeal by Elder Wilson to say “amen” instead of clapping was the beginning of a tidal wave of addressing the various and sundry things that have infested Adventism over the last 40 years or so; which beforehand was, to me, “live and let live” since the warning message of Elder Robert Pierson (meaning no disrespect to Elder Neal Wilson). Elder Wilson has been doing the most important work needed within the SDA Church.
Ellen White says, “A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work.” 1 Selected Messages pg. 121
She also states, “Revival and reformation are to do their appointed work, and in doing this work they must blend.” —The Review and Herald, February 25, 1902.
However, it seems to me that the Women as Elders, Women as Pastors, Women as Commissioned Ministers issues must be reformed in order to achieve an atmosphere of real, actual reformation in our Church. So very many proponents of bringing our church in line with other churches and U.S., European, and Australian cultures, were dismayed at the election of Elder Wilson; making comments such as “This will set us back to the seventies”. Well, in keeping with the Word of God (such as Jude 3….”earnest contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints”) we are to admonished to “revival and reform”. This means that the themes of the ministry of Elder Wilson have been and are ordered up by God Himself. Yet, to allow the rebellion to continue, unchecked, is beginning to strip all applicative meaning of the concepts of Revival and Reformation. All of us who were at the Alamodome or listened by TV/Internet heard the promise from Elder Wilson, “I will abide by the vote this body, I promise you (possibly not verbatim, but close enough).” We know what abiding by a “yes vote” would have meant (not standing in the way of implementation of Women’s Ordination within Divisions deciding to proceed with it), but what has abiding by a “no vote” meant? Unions/Conference have been working, since GC 2015, to turn a “no vote” into a “yes vote” by being rebelliously creative in devising a way to get around the “no vote”. All we have had is a statement of clarification from the Secretariat of the GC, in regards to the actual powers/latitudes of the Unions and nothing further. During the “war in heaven”, Ellen White states, “God permitted Satan to carry forward his work until the spirit of disaffection ripened into active revolt.” Patriarchs and Prophets pg. 41 Is not the actions of these rogue Unions/Conferences (and the Divisional Leaders that allow it) “active revolt”.
The silence from the GC is deafening…

We appreciate the suggestion on topics and timeliness. We will also update this post or add a more detailed post in a few days.
Let us also remind you that we normally limit comments to 300 words, for future reference.

Adventists need to understand that this is a WAR. The people pushing all these liberal and rebellious agendas are spirit driven and relentless. The enemy did not repent in heaven. His intent is consistent: the overthrow of the authority of God and replacing that with his own and if he cannot do this in heaven, he will do it here and ESPECIALLY in the only church that has publicly professed to live by the word of God and to keep all His commandments. Seducing and corrupting Adventism with WOMEN’S LIBERATION, liberation theology that is and that includes LGBT “third way” is Satan’s coup de grace. He is not repenting here just because a group in the church timidly voted NO. The point to be grasped is that it is intended that the Seventh Day Adventist church shall be changed and violated and subdued into part of Satan’s agenda to incorporate and promote the very things they were raised to condemn – a la rebellion. So, what should we do. We do not expect the GC to start a witch hunt. We simply wonder why it is so hard to use our public media like the Review and Hope Channel to reiterate the BIBLICAL positions of the church and define this faith by them so that those that do not accept them can be clearly represented. Why is that so hard? Educate me someone.

And the coming of the Lord is so near! Is someone giving the General Conference leadership a stand down order? I know that it is easy for an executive committee to be seduced, swayed, manipulated and blackmailed but how is it possible that ALL THE MEMBERSHIP of this conference can be silenced? What has happened to our people in North America? “God’s people must take warning and discern the signs of the times. The signs of Christ’s coming are too plain to be doubted; and in view of these things every one who professes the truth should be a living preacher. God calls upon all, both preachers and people, to awake. All heaven is astir. The scenes of earth’s history are fast closing. We are amid the perils of the last days. Greater perils are before us, and yet we are not awake. This lack of activity and earnestness in the cause of God is dreadful. This death stupor is from Satan.–Testimonies, vol. 1, pp. 260, 261. {ChS 37.1} “
