The United Methodist Church (began ordaining women in 1956) is today dealing with pastors performing same-sex unions in defiance of their own denominational Book of Discipline. We included a link to a previous video about the attempt to legitimize homosexual practice at the 2012 UMC GC session. The 11 minute video above updates some developments since then. While this is not specifically a Seventh-day Adventist matter, there are similarities between the Methodist and Adventist Churches—as there are between the women’s ordination and homosexual practice advocacies (both driven by liberation theology) (See also LGBTQ theology).
UPDATE 2013-12-24: Pastor Mark Shaeffer (the subject of some of the video material above) was defrocked by the United Methodist Church on December 19, 2013 after he refused to be repentant for his actions, refused to commit himself to uphold the UMC Book of Discipline, and refused to surrender his credentials.

Why the push to use the wording Without Regard to Gender? Would not a simple Male or Female do? Seems some want to place a Trojan horse in place for the LGBTQ to be used at a later date. Once the plain teaching of the Word of God is laid aside, the door is open for all types of deviation….
AMEN….This ENTIRE ISSUE centers around whether we choose to use the BIBLE as our ONLY authority or follow a SELFISH, SINFUL direction that FOLLOWS WORLDLY SINFUL MEN’S/WOMEN’S THOUGHTS and IDEAS. WE MUST STAND SOLELY ON THE WORD OF GOD!!!!!!! And WHY DOES OUR CHURCH, SDA, GOD’S REMNANT CHOSEN, FOLLOW THE WAYS AND TEACHINGS OF Babylon/FALLEN CHURCHES and PAGANISM?!?! IT IS AN ABOMINATION TO ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF!!!!!!
This post looks like a logical fallacy. Just because the Adventist Church in the NAD will one day ordain both men and women, doesn’t mean that that it will lead to homosexual ordination. This concept of ordination without regard to gender is not a “liberal theology.” It started with Jesus and his acceptance of both men and women!! When Jesus was here on earth, he treated men and women equally.

Great! You said it… “men and women”…. but “without regard to gender” does not only mean “men and women” SO WHY USE THE WORDING??? Again this is a Trojan horse placed for a purpose. Just look at the first churches that strayed from the Word and you will see where it leads.
One compromise leads to the next. We only need to look at churches who have already gone down this road to see where it will lead — it’s straight up apostasy.
If you review the denominations that have approved women’s ordination from 1956-1976, you will find that several of them, such as the United Methodist church and the United Presbyterian Church have large groups pressing for the endorsement of aborton, homosexual conduct as morally valid, and the approval of homosexual ordination.
In Early 2014, according to Mennonite World Review, the Mountain States Conference, a division of the Mennonite Church USA, has approved the ministerial license of a Colorado woman who identifies as a lesbian. Theda Good, who is in a relationship with another woman, began serving with First Mennonite Church of Denver in 2012.
The Lutheran church for example Ordained women in 1970, approved abortion in 1991, and ordained homosexuals in 2006.

Jesus did treat all men and women equal when it came to His love and salvation for all,but He did not promote any women to leadership roles in the church.

By looking at the progression and development of this issue in other churches, we can see where the SDA is headed if compromises continue to be made. One deviation simply leads to another and another. By God’s grace, wrongs will be made right in the church very soon.

CONFORMITY TO THE WORLD IS THE WRONG ROAD. Why do our people want to take the same road the FALLEN churches?/BABYLON of Revelation take?? Now the Mennonite Church has allowed a practicing homosexual, Theda Good, to pastor in Colorado.
Are you sure God can’t use homosexuals in ministry? I have met several articulate and sensitive homosexual Christians who i think would be very suited to ministry. Try to be kind and open minded. Life really is much happier that way.
God can use homosexuals to represent Him like He uses Satan to represent Him…He simply doesn’t do that…Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared…just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. et in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones….
Truly, this is the end time of bible prophecy. The decision of the General Conference on this burning issue will show to the world where we stand. I believe very well that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is God’s remnant Church, Satan has planted men and women in the SDA Church to twist the Scriptures to favour him and bring many to his side. God Almighty, The Creator of Heaven and Earth, and the Owner of the Church WILL STAND TO DEFEND HIS CHURCH AND LIBERATE HER FROM THESE HIJACKERS.
I STRONGLY BELIEVE, THAT THE 2015 GC SESSION WILL SPEAK GOD’S MIND.
